About Tasneem

After graduating with an honours degree in BBL Business and Law from University College Dublin in 2013, Tasneem tried her hand in advertising and marketing agencies before finding her niche in the IP profession. She joined one of Ireland’s leading specialist IP firms, where she qualified as an Irish and European Trade Mark and Design Attorney in 2017.

Tasneem joined Keltie in 2025 after gaining extensive experience advising start-ups and SMEs on all aspects of IP. Also, in her previous firm, she was a member of a dedicated team working on contentious EU and UK matters for one of the world’s largest multinational technology conglomerates. This involved performing initial assessments, preparing demand letters, negotiating terms of settlement, and filing and substantiating EU and UK trade mark oppositions and invalidity proceedings.

Tasneem is a skilled advisor in all aspects of trade mark practice, with a particular interest in prosecution and contentious matters. She is committed to continuous professional education, having completed and obtained a distinction in the Legal Practice Course at BPP University in 2019, as well as the EUIPO’s Trade Mark and Design Education Programme for Practitioners in 2024. She is an active member of the Irish Association of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys (APTMA).

Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding is an increasingly popular method for a company to raise funds to get a new product off the ground. This is particularly prevalent for small businesses and start-ups within the lifestyle and wellness sectors. Successful crowdfunding has been seen in diverse areas such as tabletop gaming, comic books and virtual reality headsets. The potential for a company with its roots in crowdfunding can be extremely high, with the company Oculus starting from searching for a $250,000 investment on Kickstarter to eventually being bought out by Facebook for a figure in the billions.
